World Book Day at Leeds West Academy!

What an unforgettable #WorldBookDay we’ve had this year! 

Our school was buzzing with excitement as students and staff came together to celebrate the joy of reading in creative and inspiring ways. From the free book giveaway in the library to our staff stepping into the shoes of their favourite book characters, the day was packed with fun, imagination, and literary magic.

One of the standout moments? Our amazing students donated a tower of books that reached as tall as Mr Whieldon himself! Their generosity means more young readers will have the chance to enjoy fantastic stories for years to come.

The library’s “first come, first served” free book shop was a huge hit, with students eagerly picking out something new to read and share. We loved seeing the excitement on their faces as they explored the shelves.

A huge thank you goes out to our staff, students, and families for making World Book Day such a success. Your enthusiasm and support help keep the love of reading alive in our school community.
