A Level Results Day 2019

Leeds West Academy celebrating A-Level results.

Students from Leeds West Academy are celebrating some amazing A-Level results, despite a reported fall in A-Level results nationally.  The Academy is delighted to report that its vocational provision has, once again, performed above the national average, with some significant improvements in A-Level attainment.

Mr Wilcocks, Principal, said, “Our Year 13 leavers have endured significant change throughout their time at Leeds West Academy.  It was wonderful to see so many students who were delighted with their results and were able to confirm their places at University.  I feel incredibly proud of their achievement.  Our students have shown tremendous resilience and achieved some fantastic individual results.”

Leeds West Academy is reporting significant improvements in the proportion of students achieving the highest grades (A*-B or equivalent) and large increases in the number of students achieving A-Level qualifications.

Next steps:

Well over half of our students have decided to go to University; this is a significant increase from last year.

Five of our students have secured high-level apprenticeships and three of our students continue with their entrepreneurial careers.
