Chris Bell Bio

Senior Assistant Principal - Positive Behaviour and Student Culture

Chris Bell studied Political Science and International Relations at the University of Birmingham before moving to London to work for 12 years as a Recruitment and Selection Specialist for Architectural and Construction professionals.

In 2008 Chris changed careers and began working as an English Teacher at Park View School in Tottenham, London. In 2009 Chris completed his GTP training at the Institute of Education, University of London and became a Head of Year at Park View School.

After four years teaching in London, Chris returned to his birth county of Yorkshire and took up a role as Head of Year at South Craven School in North Yorkshire. During his nine years at this school he specialised in pastoral, safeguarding and behavioural work and was promoted to Assistant Headteacher - Behaviour, Attendance and Inclusion in 2017.

In September 2021 Chris joined Leeds West Academy as Senior Assistant Principal - Positive Behaviour and Student Culture and is really enjoying working with the community to build on the ongoing transformation of the Academy.

Chris has been married to Jo since 2008 and is passionate about food, sports and music. Chris relaxes by walking with Jo and their cocker spaniel, Dylan, in the Dales, Lakes or Pennines as often as possible.
