Year 7 Football Tournament

All Schools Compete in Trust-wide Competition

This week all three Academies within the White Rose Academies Trust competed in a Year 7 Football Tournament, with each school bringing two eager teams for a five-a-side competition at Leeds City Academy.

Mr Carrington from Leeds City Academy said: "Each team played four eight-minute games and demonstrated fantastic football skills in addition to representing their academies with pride and passion."

The final results were:

1st place - Leeds West A Team - 13 points
2nd place - Leeds West B Team - 9 points
3rd place - Leeds City A team - 9 points ( goal difference )
4th place - Leeds East A team - 4 points
5th place - Leeds City B team - 3 points
6th place - Leeds East B team - 0 points

Mr Major from Leeds East Academy said: "It was a great example of inclusion and was very much enjoyed by all of the students. The boys who took part in this event have trained extremely hard, week in week out, and are set to have another White Rose Academies tournament very soon."

Executive Principal of The White Rose Academies Trust, Mr Whitaker, added: "Congratulations to all of our student footballers on their outstanding efforts for this event, which demonstrated very impressive skills coupled with supportive sportsmanship. I would like to thank Mr Noutch, Mr Major and Mr Carrington for organising the tournament, which showcased the outstanding footballing talent we have in our foundation schools. The future for sport across our Academies is very bright indeed!"
