CT Day

Developing Personal Wellbeing, Teamwork and Safety Awareness

The first CT Day of the academic year was held on 4th November. Students from all year groups were actively engaged in numerous workshops and events, developing skills in equality, diversity, health and personal wellbeing.

Visiting lecturers and public speakers are an active ingredient of CT Days at the Academy and this term's range of events was no exception. Highlights included yoga and relaxation techniques in the dance studio, hands on experience with Guide Dogs for the Blind, personal safety training, lectures on justice and democracy, as well as diverse teambuilding exercises.

Principal Nick Hinchliffe said: "We thank all of the innovative and inspirational speakers who have worked within the Academy for CT Day. Students have been experiencing incredibly diverse projects, including the design and creation of load-bearing structures within brainstorming teams. We have also been exploring a whole range of technical activities within STEM, fortifying collaborative skills across several disciplines."

Foundation School Leader Mr Bullock added: "CT days provide an exciting opportunity for collaborative work amongst students and teachers, developing health and wellbeing skills for life. Students thoroughly enjoyed the diverse range of events and we thank our speakers for delivering such engaging workshops."
