During Physical Education lessons pupils will cover a range of activities from the National Curriculum. Netball, hockey, football, rugby, softball, cricket, trampolining, gymnastics, rounders, rock climbing, fitness and athletics are just some of the sports we offer.
Leadership plays a vital role in all aspects of the Physical Education Department and pupils are encouraged to take up a leadership role during lessons and also during their study on theory courses. This includes running small tournaments for primary schools, organising sessions for pupils lower down the school and helping out in residentials. Physical Education Facilities include the Sports Hall, Gymnasium, state of the art Fitness Suite, rock climbing facility and ICT suite.
The department also offers a range of extracurricular activities for all sports throughout all seasons, whilst competing against other schools around Leeds in friendlies and in leagues. Trips out are very popular and these have included ice skating, trips to Holland for the Football team, with Outdoor Education trips to Yeadon Tarn and residentials to London to see the Emirates Stadium. We also look forward to excursions to Leeds Utd to see the stadium and watch evening games.
