Literacy & Numeracy Focus

Leeds West Academy is committed to delivering a vibrant and engaging curriculum which produces the highest possible outcomes in literacy and numeracy for each and every child.

At LWA we believe the home-academy partnership is essential and will help our learners to achieve and succeed. Research going back many years has consistently told us, not surprisingly that parents are the most important people in their children’s lives, and that their support for their children’s learning and development is crucial.

As a result of our attendance drive, PAs have reduced from 11.3% (March, 2016) to 10.6% (February, 2017). Leeds West Academy's current attendance is 94% (an improvement from 0.2% from March 2016).

Working together with students and the local community, we are very proud of the progress we have made to ensure that every student attends the academy and reaches their full potential. Let’s work together and ensure our young people continue to achieve and succeed.
